I’ve had a lovely shortened work week with American Thanksgiving yesterday.
Yesterday I went to Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-law’s. She spoiled us with far too many delicious dishes. I can’t pick a favorite.
Today my mom, sister-in-law and four family friends went to the Music Box Theater for a first for us: Sing Along Sound of Music. The theater was sold out. When we entered we each got a 60th Anniversary Sound of music bag filled with props like a fan, streamers that pop, a Sound of Music band-aid. Some people were in costume and they were called up on the stage and all got prizes. This was the ultimate feel-good experience. It’s sure to be an annual event.
Last Saturday, I went to a friend’s cabin in Lake Geneva and to the Holiday International Folk Festival, a great event to explore foods and customs of different cultures and to see lots of folk dances and music. An amazingly colorful, vibrant event.
